Mazda CX-6e Global Debut, Potential Replacement for MX-30 in Indonesia

Mazda will introduce two new SUV models at GIIAS 2025, with KatadataOTO predicting the arrival of the CX-70 Hybrid.
KatadataOTO – Mazda is ready to enliven the GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) 2025 automotive event, which will take place towards the end of July.
Through PT EMI (Eurokars Motor Indonesia), the Japanese manufacturer is rumored to be bringing two new SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles) for Indonesian consumers.
Although there are several possible models, KatadataOTO predicts the Mazda CX-70 Hybrid will be one of the potential products, as Mazda's newest Large SUV in Indonesia.
Considering Mazda has started venturing into environmentally friendly cars through the CX-60 mild hybrid and CX-80 PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle), the CX-70 Hybrid has a high chance of being introduced.
Furthermore, the Mazda CX-70 Hybrid is already sold in Australia. This means the RHD (Right Hand Drive) version of the model is available and can be sold domestically.
In terms of design, its appearance is not much different from the CX-80. Without many ornaments or additional components, it looks elegant and minimalist with Mazda's signature fascia.
Reflecting on the silhouette shown during a press conference some time ago, the headlight design already points towards the Mazda CX-70.
However, the difference is that the CX-70 has a two-row or 5-seater configuration. Meanwhile, the larger CX-80 has three rows and can accommodate up to six passengers.
Entering the cabin, the interior is dominated by a sporty red color. The first-row cabin looks neat with not many physical control buttons on the center console.
The safety system is claimed to be comprehensive. It includes Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring with Vehicle Exit Warning, and Smart Brake Support.
The latest feature from Mazda can also be enjoyed by CX-70 Hybrid owners, namely Unresponsive Driver Support as part of Cruising and Traffic Support.
If the vehicle's system detects driver distraction, there will be a notification. When the driver does not react, the vehicle will decelerate and stop to avoid an accident.
Speaking of the powertrain, the Mazda CX-70 Hybrid is available in two options. The first type uses a 3,300 cc turbocharged gasoline engine with 245 kW (328 hp) of power and a peak torque of 500 Nm.
Meanwhile, the second variant is equipped with a 3,300 cc diesel engine producing 187 kW (250 hp) and 550 Nm of torque. Both are supported by Mazda's mild hybrid technology, the M Hybrid Boost 48V, paired with an eight-speed Skyactiv Drive automatic transmission.
It is highly likely that Mazda Indonesia will only bring the gasoline engine variant to the country.
