KatadataOTO – A number of automotive manufacturers will bring various new models to be exhibited to consumers at the IIMS 2025 (Indonesia International Motor Show) event at JIExpo Kemayoran, February 13-23, 2025.

KatadataOTO's observation at the location on Wednesday (12/2) showed many units suspected to be new models were ready to be displayed at each brand's booth, one of which is Wuling.

Different from other models that have been marketed by Wuling in Indonesia, this time the car wrapped in a black cover has a body shape like a sedan.

Although it is not yet clearly known, there is a high chance that the model is the electric-powered sedan Wuling Starlight, which has already launched in the global market.

In its home country, there are two variants of the Wuling Starlight: PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) and BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle).

However, looking at Wuling's portfolio in the country, it seems they will only introduce the pure electric type rather than the hybrid.

This is because Wuling is currently focused on bringing in electric cars with competitive price tags, and all of them have received government assistance in the form of a three percent tax subsidy if they meet the requirements.

However, it cannot be confirmed if the Starlight will enter Indonesia. This is because there are still two more products being displayed at the booth with smaller sizes.

“There will be two product launches at IIMS this year, we hope our media friends can attend,” said Brian Gomgom, PR Manager of Wuling Motors in Jakarta on a separate occasion.

It is possible that the Wuling Starlight will be brought as an introduction or simply be exhibited to consumers.

For your information, the Wuling Starlight has quite large dimensions with a size of L x W x H at 4,835 mm x 1,860 mm x 1,515 mm, only slightly larger than the BYD Seal at 4,800 mm x 1,875 mm x 1,460 mm.

The battery used is made of LFP material. There are two variants with different capacities, namely 41.9 kWh and 54.5 kWh, offering a cruising range of 410 km to 510 km based on the CLTC testing method.
