Toyota bZ7 Introduced, BYD Challenger Priced Around Rp 300 Million

KatadataOTO – Japanese manufacturers continue to present a line of environmentally friendly vehicles, including EV (Electric Vehicle), to maintain their position against the onslaught of Chinese products.

Most recently, Toyota launched several models in the bZ (Beyond Zero) series, one of which is the Toyota bZ7 sedan. This model was introduced to the public at the Shanghai Auto Show 2025.

Previously, the Toyota bZ7 appeared as a prototype at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2024. The unit exhibited is the mass-production version.

Toyota is collaborating with the Chinese company, GAC, to develop a line of electric vehicles in the Chinese market.

In terms of design, the Toyota bZ7 adopts a fascia LED character with a hammerhead shark design concept.

So a difference among Toyota's electric vehicle models in the global market, like the bZ4X, is that the bZ7 is already equipped with a lidar sensor placed on the front part of the car's roof.

The Toyota bZ7 is embedded with various of the latest features and technologies, including an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) supported by Huawei.

This electric-powered sedan will be one of Toyota's assets to survive, especially in the Chinese market. Unfortunately, there is no complete information on the specifications yet, but it is known that the bZ7's battery is supplied by BYD (Build Your Dreams).
