KatadataOTO – The Toyota Veloz Hybrid is once again a hot topic of discussion. This car is rumored to be hitting Indonesian roads soon.

According to a salesperson, the new product from Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) will be launched next month.

“Just an update, the Veloz Hybrid will start coming out in November,” a Toyota salesperson revealed to KatadataOTO today, Wednesday (15/10).

However, he was still hesitant to leak the exact launch date of the new Toyota car.

He further explained that the hybrid-powered Toyota Veloz will be sold to consumers in mid-November.

Looking at the timeline, this would be close to the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025 event at ICE BSD, Tangerang.

“It seems it will be either before GJAW or during GJAW. That's likely where the initial launch will be,” he asserted.

According to the salesperson, whose identity was concealed, the price of the Toyota Veloz Hybrid is estimated to be around Rp 420 million.

However, he was not yet willing to leak further information about the Toyota Veloz Hybrid that will be marketed.

On the other hand, KatadataOTO tried to confirm the above information with TAM. The Japanese manufacturer was also reluctant to comment further.

“I’m sorry, I cannot comment on new products yet. It certainly cannot be ordered at this time,” said Philardi Ogi, Head of Public Relations at TAM.

He also could not confirm whether the Toyota Veloz might be launched during the GJAW 2025 exhibition, which will take place from November 21-30.

Produced in Karawang

As a reminder, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) has stated that the Veloz Hybrid will be produced locally in Karawang, West Java.

Additionally, TMMIN is said to intend to partner with a third party for the development of the Toyota Veloz Hybrid's battery.

“In the future, we will have a partnership for battery manufacturing,” said Nandi Julyanto, President Director of TMMIN, on a different occasion.

Based on the statement above, there is a high probability that the battery in question is the result of a strategic partnership with the Chinese manufacturer, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL).

Considering that in 2023, a Toyota representative confirmed that they would partner with CATL to build an electric vehicle battery industry in Indonesia.

Furthermore, CATL's domestic production facility was inaugurated by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in June 2025 and is targeted for completion next year.
