KatadataOTO – Xpeng confirms it will make feature adjustments to the products they bring to Indonesia. This is to ensure all features in the vehicle can be used as optimally as possible.
According to them, it is feared that the existing features may not function optimally in Indonesia. This is because the infrastructure and road conditions are very different compared to China.
“Most of the features will be brought to Indonesia, but some of their functions may not be optimal. Or there might be a need for a feature here that doesn't exist in its country of origin, so it will be adjusted,” said Djohan Sutanto, CEO of Erajaya Active Lifestyle, some time ago.
However, he emphasized that the number of features removed will not be many, so the vehicle's value will remain high. The goal is to ensure the vehicle's appeal is maintained.
“The main appeal of Xpeng is its comprehensive set of features. Especially since the car will be equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System),” he later added.
These adjustments are also believed to have a positive impact on the price, as the manufacturer can sell more competitively compared to similar products. Moreover, they plan to produce it directly in Indonesia.
“Production will be carried out at Handal Indonesia Motor. But the production capacity cannot be disclosed yet as we are still calculating it,” he later added.
It was previously reported that Xpeng has officially entered Indonesia by partnering with Erajaya Active Lifestyle as its domestic partner. They will bring two models simultaneously: the G6 in the EV SUV segment and the X9 in the Premium EV MPV segment.
Xpeng G6 is claimed to be designed for comfortable use in urban areas due to the various features embedded within it.
This model is equipped with an 87.5 kWh Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery, allowing it to travel up to 570 km (WLTP).
Meanwhile, the Xpeng X9 will challenge the Denza D9. This vehicle is equipped with a spacious and luxurious interior, as well as a small refrigerator for cooling or heating food.
In the second row, Xpeng has embedded a large 21.4-inch home entertainment screen accompanied by 23 Xopera speakers to support the in-cabin entertainment system.
The embedded battery is an NMC with a capacity of 101.5 kWh, enabling it to travel up to 575 km (WLTP).
