KatadataOTO – The Shanghai Auto Show 2025 is being utilized by various global vehicle brands to showcase their latest developments. One of them is Xpeng Motors, which is bringing various new technologies for public mobility.
As an electric vehicle manufacturer, Xpeng has introduced various latest models equipped with diverse AI technologies. It has many functions that can be adapted to different needs.
“Xpeng is building an integrated ecosystem where innovations like the 5C AI Supercharging battery, Turing AI chip, and Iron robot come together to create smart mobility solutions that can learn, adapt, and enhance the transportation experience,” said He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of Xpeng.
At the biennial event, the company introduced the Xpeng World Foundation Model, called the latest generation AI Brain. Its arrival is claimed to be a leap in the development of automotive intelligence, with 35 times more parameters than VLA (Vision-Language-Action).
This allows the vehicle to adapt in real time to various driving scenarios. Besides cars, the technology can be applied to robots and flying vehicles.
They also showcased the Xpeng P7+, which is the first car to feature AI technology. This model is equipped with a 5C Supercharging AI Battery, allowing it to charge faster than other models.
Impressively, it only takes 10 minutes for the vehicle to gain a range of up to 420 km, with an energy efficiency of 12.7 kWh per 100 km.
Xpeng used this exhibition to showcase the Iron humanoid robot, which is 178 cm tall and has human-like capabilities. Not only in movement, it is also capable of natural conversation as it is supported by smart-cockpit AI.
This full-stack developed robotic platform highlights XPENG's technological capabilities that extend beyond just automotive.
At the Shanghai Auto Show, Xpeng also took the opportunity to start global deliveries of the X9. Although it was just launched, the car has already received 6,000 orders in its first six days.
That number is certain to continue to grow as several other countries will also begin selling it.
