KatadataOTO – Although it has not been officially launched in Indonesia, the Xpeng X9 has actually received a good response from other countries, especially China. This is evident from the high sales figures achieved throughout 2024.
The manufacturer even claims it has become the best-selling premium MPV in China throughout 2024. This record makes them optimistic that it will be well-received by markets in other countries.
“When I make this note, I am amazed at the achievements of the Xpeng X9 because in just one year it has become the best-selling model in its class. It even outsold the Toyota Alphard, an ICE vehicle, which makes us even prouder,” said He Xiaopeng, Chairman & CEO of Xpeng.
At the Xpeng Global Brand Night event in Hong Kong, attended by KatadataOTO, he revealed that X9 sales throughout 2024 reached 21,141 units. That number surpasses the Zeekr 009 in second place and the Toyota Alphard with 16,701 units.
“We had to include the Toyota Alphard in the rankings, even though it's not an electric vehicle, because it is the trendsetter in this segment. I am also very proud that the Xpeng X9 is now at the top,” he added.
These high sales figures also make them optimistic that it will be well-received in various other countries. Therefore, starting this year, the Xpeng X9 will also enter several markets, particularly in Southeast Asia.
“We have introduced the Xpeng X9 in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand,” he later said.
It should be noted that the Xpeng X9 model year 2025 has been officially launched globally in Hong Kong. The car has received various interesting developments to provide added value in the eyes of its customers.
One of the main developments is its very fast charging capability, supported by a 5C Superfast Charging AI battery. Thanks to this, in one second, the driving range increases by 1 km.
So in just 10 minutes, the car can travel up to 405 km, and in 12 minutes, the battery can be charged to 80 percent from around 20 percent.
However, the manufacturer claims that efficiency remains a priority. The car only requires 16.2 kWh of power for every 100 km.
