KatadataOTO – During the month of Ramadan, Citroen, through Indomobil National Distributor, has prepared a number of attractive promos and programs to pamper consumers. One of them is an extra battery for the E-C3 electric car.

It should be noted that the E-C3 is currently the only electric car offered by Citroen to domestic consumers. The model has received import incentives before it is locally assembled later.

Citroen explained that the extra battery program applies to consumers who purchase a 2023 model E-C3 during the month of Ramadan.

“Buyers are often worried about what happens if the battery is damaged, and about the warranty. There's no need to worry because we are providing an extra battery program, with terms and conditions,” said Ferdinan Hendra, Sales and Marketing Division Head of Citroen Indonesia in Jakarta recently.

Ferdinan further explained that the extra battery program is actually optional. If the consumer is not interested, it will be replaced with a discount or another price reduction.

The program, titled 'E-C3 Tambah Panjang', is intended to provide assurance and peace of mind for EV (Electric Vehicle) owners.

The additional battery will typically be utilized after the first battery's warranty has expired. The program already includes the replacement cost for the power source component.

“Specifically, in the seventh year after the warranty expires, the battery will be replaced. It's already included (the replacement cost),” Ferdinan emphasized.

Speaking of electrified vehicles, Citroen seems to still be focusing on the E-C3. Previously, when they re-debuted in the country, they brought in the E-C4, which is a crossover SUV.

However, the target market is different. While the E-C3 is sold in the Rp 300 million range, the price of the Citroen E-C4 reaches Rp 1.18 billion and it has CBU (Completely Built Up) status, or is fully imported from the Stellantis facility in Spain.

“It ends up being expensive because it's still a European CBU and the taxes are expensive, too high,” said Tan Kim Piauw, CEO of PT Indomobil National Distributor, on a different occasion some time ago.

But if consumers are interested, they can still place an order. However, they need to be patient because shipping in small quantities takes time, it could be up to three months.

“If the goods are ready and the ship's schedule is right, it could be as fast as two months,” said Tan Kim Piauw.
