KatadataOTO – GWM is not holding back in its aggressive approach to attract consumers in the country. They are reportedly preparing new products.
And they're not kidding, as three new cars are set to be launched for domestic consumers.
"Get ready for the arrival of a new variant for the GWM Tank 300, which has earned a special place among consumers in Indonesia," said Martina Danuningrat, Marketing Director of GWM Indonesia, on Friday (21/03).
It doesn't stop there; the Chinese manufacturer also plans to market the Haval H6 Facelift.
The four-wheeled vehicle has previously been launched in Thailand. It offers various changes, such as the design of the front section.
The Haval H6 Facelift now features a headlight and DRL design that appears to hang downwards.
Then there is also a new taillight design, making it more modern and robust.
On the other hand, GWM also plans to market electric cars for consumers in the country.
"In addition, as has been long-awaited, GWM Indonesia is on track to launch the Ora line this year," she continued.
Most likely, the Ora 03 will be sold in the country. This is because this EV (Electric Vehicle) has already been showcased at GIIAS 2024.
Unfortunately, Martina is still keeping the details of these three new products under wraps.
However, Constantinus Herlijoso, Director of Planning, Product Development, Logistics and Aftersales at GWM Indonesia, confirmed that the three cars above will be marketed in the second to third quarter of 2025.
He also hopes that the presence of these three new GWM cars will be able to stimulate the automotive industry.
"We are confident that these new models will be able to help us achieve the sales figures we are targeting," he said.
On the same occasion, Herlijoso also said that there will be a new model assembled at the GWM factory in Wanaherang, Bogor, West Java.
However, this step will not be taken this year, but will proceed in 2026.
GWM cannot yet confirm exactly when the production process will be applied to its new products. This is because there are a number of things to consider.
Such as comparing the efficiency between assembling in Indonesia and importing vehicles from the factory in Thailand.
"If we import from Thailand, it means logistically there are two shipments. First from China to Thailand, then there is also work done there before we ship it here again," Herlijoso concluded.
