KatadataOTO – Demand for Honda electric motorcycles at the Jakarta Fair 2025 was considerably high. Impressively, at least 300 orders were successfully recorded during the event.
The high number was due to the large discounts offered. From around Rp 50 million to just Rp 20 million, making it easier for the public to buy them.
During the exhibition, PT Wahana Makmur Sejati, as the main dealer for Honda motorcycles in the Jakarta – Tangerang region, sold the CUV e: for Rp 20 million, down from the original Rp 50 million. Meanwhile, the EM1 e:, originally priced around Rp 40 million, was sold for only Rp 17 million.
“We are very optimistic about the future of electric vehicles in Indonesia. The sale of more than 300 EV units during JFK is an initial step towards an environmentally friendly mobility ecosystem,” said Olivia Widyasuwita, Division Head of Sales at PT Wahana Makmur Sejati in her official statement (17/07).
Although not providing details, they revealed that they had received at least 5,000 orders. Of that total, automatic scooters are still the most sought-after model.
“We appreciate the visitors' trust in making the Wahana booth their top choice. Sales exceeding 5,000 units are proof that Honda motorcycles are still a favorite,” added Olivia Widyasuwita.
However, it cannot be denied that this achievement is actually a decrease compared to last year's event. This is because at the Jakarta Fair 2024, they managed to record up to 7,000 orders.
The decline in Honda motorcycle orders at the Jakarta Fair 2025 is quite unfortunate. This is because the event is a moment usually utilized by manufacturers to boost their sales figures.
Nevertheless, the current market condition cannot be said to be good. In the first semester of 2025 alone, motorcycle sales in Indonesia only reached 3,104,629 units.
The number is about 66 thousand units smaller than the same period last year. At that time, at least 3,170,994 units were successfully released to the market.
However, based on data from the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association or AISI, the two-wheeled vehicle market in June 2025 saw an increase compared to the previous month.
At least 509,326 units were successfully sold, an increase from May's figure of only 505,350 units.
