KatadataOTO – A special 50th-anniversary edition of the touring big bike Honda Gold Wing was officially launched by PT AHM (Astra Honda Motor) in Indonesia on Wednesday (21/05).

The Gold Wing is Honda's flagship big bike model in the global market. This special version is given a number of changes that differentiate it from previous variants.

For example, the use of Bordeaux Red Metallic color combined with gold accents on several parts adds to the luxurious impression of the Honda Gold Wing.

The presence of the special edition Honda Gold Wing is a form of appreciation for fans of Honda's premium big bikes.

“Presenting the best products for consumers in the premium segment is part of our commitment to all Honda motorcycle lovers,” said Octavianus Dwi, Marketing Director of PT AHM in his official statement, quoted on Wednesday.

The Gold Wing still carries The Honda Premium Tourer concept. The inclusion of a ‘since 1975’ emblem on the console area is a hallmark of this special edition.

The safety system that is an identity of the Gold Wing is maintained, such as airbag technology to help minimize the impact of accidents.

Other capable features are also included to pamper its users. The motorcycle already supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, complete with two USB Type-C slots for smartphone charging.

Speaking of comfort, the Honda Gold Wing is equipped with a Pro-Link rear suspension where the suspension damping is electronically adjusted, and can then be set according to the rider's needs.

Thus, the motorcycle remains comfortable to ride alone, with a passenger, or when carrying extra cargo. It should be noted that the luggage capacity of this motorcycle is 61 liters.

Moving on to the engine, the Honda Gold Wing is embedded with a 1,833 cc 6-cylinder engine, producing 93 kW (124.7 hp) of power and a peak torque of 170 Nm, channeled through a seven-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission).

The C-ABS system on the motorcycle can also be electronically adjusted to distribute braking force to the front and rear wheels.

For those who are interested, the Honda Gold Wing is marketed exclusively at 11 Big Wing Honda showrooms in major cities across the country for Rp 1.13 billion OTR (On The Road) Jakarta.
