KatadataOTO – Maka Motors officially launched their first product, the Cavalry. This electric motorcycle comes with various attractions for customers in Indonesia.

Developed over three years, the model is claimed to have been adapted to the needs of road users. From design, range, to performance.

“In our internal research, the average person rides about 20 km a day. But there are also many people who use motorcycles for up to 120 km, so we developed this to meet that challenge," said Raditya Wibowo, CEO of Maka Motors this afternoon (15/01)

Maka Cavalry comes with an attractive design resembling a gasoline-powered motorcycle. Its appearance is quite sharp, especially at the front, thanks to the presence of a Projector LED lamp, making it more aggressive.

“For the design, we conducted a survey of motorcycle users in several major cities. From that, we found that people want a sporty look, so adjustments were made,” said Arief Fadillah, Co-founder & Chief Technology Officer of Maka Motors.

Its size is also quite large, with a length of 1,922 mm, a width of 731 mm, and a height of 1,173 mm. The ground clearance reaches 140 mm, making riders more confident while riding.

The Maka Cavalry uses a 4 kWh capacity battery, which is sufficient for a journey of up to 160 km. Interestingly, the battery has received IP67 certification, making it safe even when crossing puddles up to 60 cm deep.

Charging is also claimed to be fast, taking only 60 minutes to go from zero to 80 percent.

Although it has a long range, its performance is designed to remain optimal, as it can produce 12 hp of power and 242 Nm of torque. Its acceleration is also quite fast, as it can reach 60 km per hour in 4.8 seconds from a standstill, with a maximum speed of 105 km per hour.

The motorcycle can be ordered starting today for Rp 38.85 million. The units themselves will be delivered in February 2024.
