KatadataOTO – Another Chinese technology company is investing in Indonesia. This time, it's Omoway, offering a futuristic-style electric motorcycle.

Interestingly, Indonesia was chosen as the location for Omoway's global debut. The product showcased today has never been displayed anywhere else, including China.

“Omoway brings the power of smart technology to everyday life, building a sustainable future where transportation becomes easy, safe, and beneficial,” said Todd He, Founder of Omoway in Jakarta, on Friday (20/05).

The Omoway electric motorcycle has just been introduced to the public. There is no information yet regarding its specifications or price.

Unlike most electric motorcycles currently in the country, the vehicle named Omo X has an eccentric and futuristic appearance.

At a glance, the gray-colored unit is reminiscent of the Tesla Cybertruck electric car, with its many sharp angles and lines on the motorcycle's body.

Most interestingly, the Omo X is equipped with the ability to balance itself even without a rider on it.

Thus, it can move independently using Omoway's autonomous driving technology.

Additionally, several body components of the motorcycle are detachable. This allows the Omo X to transform into a scooter, sport, or cruiser style.

An additional box compartment is available to store the owner's belongings for touring or long-distance travel.

The model displayed is close to the production version. Reportedly, the Omo X will be officially launched in Indonesia towards the end of 2025.

“We believe the future of mobility is not just about riding from one point to another, but also about the journey experience itself,” Todd He emphasized.

Unfortunately, there is no detailed information yet regarding the battery specifications and other components.

Furthermore, the manufacturer is reportedly still in discussions to determine whether the Omoway electric motorcycle's battery will be built-in or removable, i.e., swappable.

Judging by its design and technology, there is a chance the electric motorcycle will be offered at a price above the average of previous products in the country, which is more than IDR 50 million.
