KatadataOTO – QJMotor is hitting the ground running after marketing its products in Indonesia. They are reportedly going to build a factory.
The production facility is said to still be in the construction phase, in the Cikarang area, West Java.
“In the future, we will indeed produce everything (domestically). However, we will start with the existing models,” said Budi Kurniawan, VP of Branding & Marketing Communication at PT QJMotor Industry Indonesia in South Jakarta, on Tuesday (25/03).
This step certainly reinforces the commitment of this Chinese brand to provide quality motorcycles for consumers in the country.
Moreover, the two-wheeled vehicles produced at the Cikarang factory are also planned to be sold to foreign markets.
“This factory is also planned to export to various regions in Southeast Asia,” Budi continued.
Budi admitted that QJMotor has invested up to 10 million US dollars, or equivalent to Rp 165.9 billion, to build the factory in Cikarang, West Java.
“Of the 10 million US dollar target, we have already spent 5 million US dollars,” he said.
For your information, the QJMotor products that will be produced in Cikarang are the Fort 250, SRV 250 AMT, SRV 600 V, up to the SRK 800 RR.
However, QJMotor cannot yet confirm whether the price of their two-wheeled vehicles will decrease or not after being manufactured domestically.
“The pricing policy is also part of a global strategy, so we cannot discuss it now,” he emphasized.
On the other hand, they are not only building a factory in Cikarang, West Java. But they also intend to expand their network by establishing dozens of official dealers throughout Indonesia.
“Actually, this year's target is 20 dealers, but we hope for more. Because now we have quite a lot of candidates who want to join,” Budi concluded.
Furthermore, Budi revealed that the addition of QJMotor dealers is not only focused on the island of Java. But will also cover other cities.
“Outside of Java, the prospects are also good, for example, we are already in Bali. Then Sumatra, Kalimantan, to Sulawesi are good,” he said.
Meanwhile, of the target of 20 dealers to be established in 2025, QJMotor currently has eight locations to serve consumers.
