KatadataOTO – The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is being recalled after a potential defect was found in one of its components. This step was taken to ensure the safety and security of its users.

The recall, part of a Product Quality Update program, will involve an inspection of the rear brake caliper bracket component. The initiative will run from August 18, 2025, at all official Suzuki service centers.

“The latest Product Quality Update program is aimed at owners and users of the Gixxer SF 250. The service team from official Suzuki service centers is ready to inspect the condition of the units so that customers can be free from worry,” said Hariadi, Asst. to Aftersales Department Head of Service at PT SIS in his official statement.

Based on the evaluation results from routine quality checks, Suzuki recommends an inspection for 174 units of the Gixxer SF 250 produced between 2022-2025. This is because they found a potential specification non-conformity in the rear brake caliper bracket component.

This condition could potentially cause suboptimal braking performance in the long term. If the mechanic team finds a problem with a consumer's unit, the parts and labor for the replacement will be provided free of charge.

In this program, the inspection only takes 15 minutes. If a replacement is needed, the work can be completed within one hour.

"Although the potential for component non-conformity in the few batches of units already in consumers' hands is not large, we feel it is necessary to provide this information as a form of corporate responsibility. We hope this good faith effort can provide peace of mind, satisfaction, and increase trust in Suzuki,” Hariadi affirmed.

It should be noted that the Gixxer SF 250 last received an update in February 2023. At that time, the manufacturer added new colors and installed the Suzuki Ride Connect feature.

This feature makes it easy for vehicle owners to check SMS notifications, phone calls, and navigation information through the motorcycle's instrument panel.

Riders can also access vehicle problem diagnosis features and real-time or live traffic updates.

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 uses a 249 cc single-cylinder engine. This configuration can produce 26 hp at 9,300 rpm and 20.8 Nm of torque at 7,300 rpm.
