Sailun Tire Indonesia is ready to market its flagship products in Indonesia in the near future.
KatadataOTO – PT Sailun Tire Indonesia made its debut in Indonesia by utilizing the GIIAS 2025 event. Sailun's presence in the country further heats up the competition among domestic tire manufacturers.
This strategic move is also intended to strengthen its position in the global market. They introduced the Sailun, RoadX, Blackhawk, and Maxam brands.
Sailun Group itself has been in the tire business since 2002. Then, according to a Tire Press report in 2024, they are ranked 10th globally.
It is mentioned that Sailun has marketed its products in more than 180 countries. This Chinese brand is also supported by 9 manufacturing plants and 4 research centers.
The facilities are located worldwide, from Asia, Europe, and North America.
As a renowned tire manufacturer, its sales cannot be underestimated. In 2022, their sales were recorded to have reached 3 billion USD.
Sailun also claims to have marketed more than 1,500 tire variants. Not only for passenger cars, but also for commercial vehicles, and even for mining, forestry, and agricultural purposes.
Furthermore, Sailun also demonstrated its commitment by starting the construction of a factory in Indonesia. Located in Demak, Central Java, this factory will be operated by its subsidiary, Sailun International Holding.
With an investment of USD 251.44 million or around IDR 4 trillion, the factory in Demak will produce radial tires for passenger cars (PCR), buses and trucks (TBR), and heavy equipment (OTR).
Meanwhile, in the first phase, the factory's annual capacity target is to reach 3.6 million PCR tires, 600 thousand TBR tires, and 37 thousand OTR tires.
Sailun plays an important role as a distribution and after-sales service center for the domestic market. Supported by local partners, they are also preparing a national distribution network.
This ensures product availability and fast, reliable services throughout all regions of Indonesia.
“Indonesia is an important market in our expansion strategy in the Southeast Asia region. We are optimistic that the quality, technology, and innovation we offer can provide added value for consumers and business partners throughout the country,” said Eko Supriyatin, Sales & Marketing Director of PT Sailun Tire Indonesia at ICE BSD (26/07).
