KatadataOTO – The Provincial Government of West Java is once again pampering car and motorcycle owners. Because they are extending the Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) amnesty program.
Originally, it was only until June 6. However, this relief can now be utilized until June 30, 2025.
“A continued solution, keep up the spirit,” said Dedi Mulyadi, Governor of West Java, on his personal Instagram account, Thursday (27/03).
Furthermore, Dedi revealed that the regulation is stated in the West Java Governor's Decree No.970/Kep.162-Bapenda/2025.
It states that the relaxation program is extended in the form of a PKB exemption for the 2024 to 2025 tax period.
Then, there are several provisions that car and motorcycle owners must pay attention to, here is the summary.
Thus, the relaxation from Dedi Mulyadi applies to all cars or motorcycles with recorded motor vehicle tax arrears.
Therefore, the public only needs to pay the current year's tax. Without having to pay fines or arrears.
“(Regional) revenue has probably reached Rp 200 billion by now. An increase of Rp 100 billion in one week,” he said.
For your information, some time ago Dedi Mulyadi indeed provided a leniency. He waived all PKB arrears for 2024 and previous years.
"However, after Eid 2025, please renew your vehicle tax," said Dedi on a separate occasion.
He also hopes that with the above leniency, it can stimulate drivers in West Java to pay off their PKB arrears.
Through this program, regional revenue in Bandung and other areas can increase. It can then be used to build various facilities.
On the other hand, Dedi Mulyadi also plans to launch a new rule so that renewing the STNK (Vehicle Registration Certificate) no longer requires the first owner's KTP (ID Card).
“I will create a governor's regulation stating that the one obligated to contact the first owner of the motorcycle, car, and STNK is not the taxpayer,” he said.
The governor of West Java stated that the government is the one who must find the first owner of the vehicle.
He claimed to have contacted a staff member of the West Java Bapenda (Regional Revenue Agency) to smooth the way for this plan.
“All requirements become the responsibility of the West Java Provincial Government through the Samsat office in each regency and city,” Dedi concluded.
