KatadataOTO – Corridor 9 of Transjakarta, Pinang Ranti – Pluit, can be said to be one of the most dangerous. This is because there are many accidents on the route, both major and minor.

This has been acknowledged by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, which has found the root of the problem.

“The majority of accidents occur because heavy vehicles like trucks hit the Transjakarta separator due to human error. Usually, it's because the driver is tired and sleepy," said Syafrin Liputo, Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency.

He also added that the accidents are not limited to a specific time. Incidents can happen during the day or at night.

Quite a few drivers were also identified as not carrying vehicle documents and legal driving documents.

“Many do not carry vehicle identification documents and legal driving documents. As for the environmental conditions, there is street lighting,” said Syafrin.

He explained that Corridor 9 has a two-way track length of 55.57 kilometers. Of that total, only about 23.19 kilometers, or about 41.73 percent, have been fitted with separators.

To address this, the Transportation Agency has taken several anticipatory steps at a number of vulnerable points. One of them is by installing seven chevron signs at several locations.

Starting from the Semanggi toll gate, MT Haryono Signature Park, Dharmais Hospital, DPR RI, Gerbang Pemuda Bus Stop, Cawang Halim Toll Exit, and Pancoran Bus Stop. The Transportation Agency also installed solar-powered road studs at the end of the separator near Tebet Hospital.

With this, it is hoped that drivers can see the separators and be more vigilant while driving.

"We urge drivers to always obey traffic signs, maintain a safe distance, focus on driving, adjust their speed, and understand the road characteristics to avoid accidents," Syafrin emphasized.

Previously, the road dividers or separators for the Transjakarta bus lane on Corridor 9, Pinang Ranti–Pluit route, were frequently hit by a number of vehicles, ranging from trucks to motorcycles. In July 2025 alone, at least five vehicles hit the separator in that corridor.

As a result, the Transjakarta route had to be diverted, causing congestion.
