KatadataOTO – Motor vehicle tax amnesty (PKB) is still one of the mainstays of several regional governments. This policy is considered effective in stimulating the public.
Therefore, the Provincial Government of Lampung is again providing this relief to all owners of two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles.
“We will carry out a motor vehicle tax amnesty simultaneously in Lampung Province,” said Rahmat Mirzani, Governor of Lampung on his personal Instagram account, Tuesday (22/04).
He explained that this policy includes a number of programs, such as the elimination of administrative fines for late payments.
They are also providing free vehicle title transfer fees, regardless of where the car or motorcycle originated.
“All four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles only pay for the current year, no matter how many years the (tax) is in arrears,” continued Mirzani.
He also hopes that the entire community will take advantage of this relief, as it can increase Lampung's regional revenue.
The money received will then be used for development, such as the construction of roads in Lampung and other infrastructure.
“Hopefully, the people of Lampung will be enthusiastic about paying taxes, so that Lampung Province can build for the future,” he asserted.
As for the schedule, the Lampung vehicle tax amnesty will be held from May 1 to July 31, 2025.
The program will be implemented at all Main Samsat (One-Stop Administration System) offices and special Samsat outlets (Mobile Samsat, Mall Samsat, Drive Thru, Container, Village Samsat).
It is also available through Electronic Samsat services, for example, in the Signal, E-Samdes, E-Salam, and Serva 277 Bumdes applications.
“The compliance rate of the Lampung community in paying taxes is only 38 percent. We hope that with this amnesty, the community will be enthusiastic about paying taxes,” he said.
Although the Lampung vehicle tax amnesty will only start next month, the program has already received a positive reception from netizens.
“This program is very good because there are also people who were previously lazy to take care of their taxes; with the amnesty, they are now willing to pay,” said Bagus, a Lampung resident, in the governor's post.
According to Bagus, the taxes paid will later be felt by the community in other forms. So he strongly supports the 2025 Lampung vehicle tax amnesty.
“It can help increase the government's local revenue, because that revenue will also come back to us,” Bayu explained, concluding his statement.
