KatadataOTO – Jabodebek LRT is planned to be extended to the city of Bogor. Currently, the process has entered the feasibility study stage, which is likely to be completed in the near future.

Later, the construction will be carried out from Harjamukti station to Baranangsiang, Bogor. The total length of the track to be built is about 23 km.

This development is claimed to be in line with Presidential Regulation Number 49 of 2017 concerning the Acceleration of Integrated LRT Development in the Jabodetabek Area.

Interestingly, the Jabodebek LRT will also be connected to other modes of transportation, such as a tram, which is currently under review.

However, the construction must also be a concern for many parties, especially the Department of Transportation. This is because during the construction process, the density of traffic is expected to increase significantly, especially since the construction site is in the city center.

Even without the construction process, the city of Bogor, especially during rush hours and holidays, is already quite congested. Therefore, it is not impossible that the government will have to prepare a number of traffic management schemes to anticipate this.

It cannot be denied that Bogor residents who work in Jakarta have actually been provided with quite a few facilities. They have several easy access options, whether using private or public vehicles.

Private car users already have relatively easy access via the Jagorawi toll road and the Bogor outer ring road to get to the Capital City. Meanwhile, motorcyclists can use the Bogor main road.

Then, for those who want to use public transportation, buses are available from the Baranangsiang terminal to several points. Most recently, there is the TransJabodetabek which connects Bogor with Blok M.

In addition, for people who want to use the train, the Commuter Line service is also available. Its large capacity in a single trip, plus being traffic-free, is one of the mainstays for mobility.

The presence of the Jabodebek LRT from Baranangsiang is actually expected to be an alternative for people's mobility. Especially if it is integrated with other modes of transportation and reduces traffic congestion, particularly on the Jagorawi toll road.
