KatadataOTO – For those planning to travel to Jakarta, it is advisable to consider looking for alternative routes. This is because today there will be a state guest, namely Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, who will be passing through several main roads in the Capital City.

During the visit, he will be accompanied by several ministers such as Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamad Hasan, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Zafrul Aziz, Minister of Higher Education Zambry Abdul Kadir, Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil, as well as the Minister of Plantation and Commodities Johari Abdul Ghani.

To ensure the mobility of the state guest, the police will implement temporary road closures shortly before the convoy passes. This policy is claimed not to last long as officers will immediately reopen them after the motorcade has passed.

Thus, it is hoped that public mobility will not be too disrupted while the state guest's visit proceeds smoothly.

“From 13:00 to 17:00 WIB, Indonesia will receive a state visit from the Prime Minister of Malaysia. As a form of respect, there will be escorts and temporary road closures at several key points in Jakarta,” stated the police on @tmcpoldametro (27/06).

Roads Passed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia

  • Bundaran Semanggi
  • Bundaran HI
  • Jalan Sudirman – Thamrin
  • Jalan Merdeka Utara
  • Jalan Merdeka Barat

They also urge the public to avoid these roads to prevent getting caught in heavy traffic.

Anwar's visit to the Republic of Indonesia is to reciprocate several previous visits by President Prabowo to Malaysia for state visits and to attend the ASEAN agenda.

Furthermore, the arrival of the Prime Minister of Malaysia is also believed to strengthen the partnership between the two countries.

Despite the state visit, the public can still carry out their activities optimally as public transportation will operate as usual. Services like TransJakarta, KRL, LRT, and MRT will not be significantly affected by the road closures.

These four public transportation modes are also integrated, which is claimed to be sufficient to meet the mobility needs of the public, especially on the Islamic New Year holiday. Therefore, several tourist locations can still be visited.
