KatadataOTO – The number of provinces holding a tax amnesty program has increased again. This time, it's the turn of the Riau Islands Provincial Government (Pemprov Kepri) to implement this policy.
This convenience is expected to encourage the public to be more orderly in vehicle administration. Interestingly, this program starts today (07/01) and will run for an indefinite period.
This program is specifically for vehicles with tax arrears from 2019 and earlier. Meanwhile, for arrears from 2020 to 2024, a gradual discount is given.
People who want to take advantage of this program can visit the Natuna Samsat Office on Jalan Adam Malik, East Bunguran District, or use the Natuna Public Service Mall (MPP) service on Jalan Dato Kaya Wan Mohamad Benteng.
The numerous locations are expected to make it easier for the public to participate in the program. Additionally, queue congestion can be reduced, providing comfort for taxpayers.
"This program is valid throughout the Riau Islands region," said Alpiuzzamari, Head of the Regional Revenue Management Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD PPD) of the Riau Islands, as reported by Antara (07/01).
He also explained that this program also provides exemption from administrative sanctions for Motor Vehicle Tax, fines for the Mandatory Road Traffic Accident Fund Contribution (SWDKLLJ) except for the current year, and the principal of the Motor Vehicle Title Transfer Fee (BBNKB II) for second owners and so on.
Not only that, taxpayers who pay actively are also given an incentive program in the form of an additional two percent discount.
This policy is claimed to be a step by the Riau Islands Provincial Government to ease the economic burden on the community. It is also hoped that public awareness and compliance with their obligation to pay vehicle taxes will increase compared to before.
“This program is an opportunity for the public to settle their tax obligations without being burdened by fines. Take advantage of it immediately to support regional development,” he said.
