The GIIAS Automotive Exhibition is planned to move venue next year.

KatadataOTO – The GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) event is rumored to be using a new location next year. This is because the current venue can no longer meet the exhibition's needs.

Last year's GIIAS welcomed a dozen new car brands. As a result, several new names had to occupy tent-roofed booths.

Then, at GIIAS 2025, 9 new car brands will be added. From Aletra to X-peng, they will liven up the event.

“Last time (2024), we used what's called a tent because the space was not enough. This year, we are still using a tent, and we are still exploring whether the new one will be sufficient or not,” said Yohannes Nangoi, Chairman of Gaikindo, in Jakarta (06/18).

Based on circulating information, the GIIAS automotive exhibition will be moved to the PIK (Pantai Indah Kapuk) area. This location is part of the National Strategic Project (PSN).

Another reason to move to PIK is the large number of people with an established economic status. Therefore, it will be profitable to hold a car exhibition there.

Nangoi explained that the decision to move the exhibition location is not yet final. Currently, the focus is still on holding GIIAS 2025 at ICE BSD.

“The progress (of the move) will begin after GIIAS is over, then we will decide. But there is indeed a view towards that direction (PIK),” Nangoi later explained.

For your information, the planned venue for GIIAS 2026 is NICE (Nusantara International Convention Exhibition).

The building, designed to host MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition) events, includes three exhibition halls and an outdoor area of 30 thousand square meters.

The total building area is 30 hectares with an exhibition area of 55,100 square meters. Meanwhile, the total land area of NICE is approximately 40 hectares.

In comparison, ICE BSD has 10 exhibition halls covering 50 thousand square meters, a 4,000-square-meter convention hall, 33 meeting rooms, and a 12,000-square-meter pre-function lobby.

In total, the land area of ICE BSD is 22 hectares. Therefore, NICE PIK 2 offers almost double the space.

NICE is currently still under construction. The process is targeted for completion in September 2025.

ICE BSD is already surrounded by adequate infrastructure such as hotels, shopping centers, gas stations, and EV charging stations.
