KatadataOTO – IIMS (Indonesia International Motor Show) 2025 will soon be underway. It will be the opening automotive exhibition of the year.
This has led several parties to have high hopes for the event. Especially for the sale of new cars in the country.
Considering that in 2024, wholesales of new four-wheeled vehicles in Indonesia only reached 865,723 units.
“IIMS is one of the events for industry players to collaborate. In addition, it is also expected to introduce the latest products and reach a wide range of consumers,” said Dodiet Prasetyo, Director of Maritime Industry, Transportation Equipment, and Defense Equipment at Kemenperin (Ministry of Industry) in Jakarta, on Thursday (16/1).
Dodiet wants IIMS 2025 to entice automotive enthusiasts to spend their money at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
That way, the new four-wheeled vehicle industry can become more vibrant and recover at the beginning of the year.
“And most importantly, at the IIMS event, the government strongly hopes and encourages participants in particular to provide special or exclusive discounts,” Dodiet continued.
According to him, this is important for all participants to do, especially since the government has just implemented an increase in the VAT to 12 percent.
“So that vehicle prices will become more competitive and be able to meet the public's purchasing power expectations,” he asserted.
Responding to the above, Daswar Marpaung, President Director of Dyandra Promosindo, said that IIMS 2025 will be a significant booster for the Indonesian automotive industry.
This is because it serves as a melting pot for all automotive stakeholders from various circles, both on a national and international scale.
“We believe that all the hard work done to make the IIMS 2024 event a success is an effort as creative industry players in the MICE sector, to be able to contribute directly to the vibrancy of the country's automotive industry,” said Daswar.
Daswar also warmly welcomes all incentives provided by President Prabowo Subianto and the ministers. Because they can be directly utilized by the public at IIMS 2025.
A similar sentiment was also expressed by Rudi MF, Project Manager of IIMS 2025. He revealed that this exhibition can serve as a benchmark for seeing the public's response and enthusiasm for various popular vehicle features.
“With the various forms of creativity we pour into our programs, IIMS is always present among the public, bringing a fresher and more friendly concept for all circles,” Rudi concluded.
Just a reminder, the opening ceremony of IIMS 2025 will be held on the upcoming February 12.
