KatadataOTO – The Traffic Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police revealed that enforcement through Static and Mobile ETLE tickets increased throughout 2025. This growth demonstrates the effectiveness of the facilities they use.

The report stated that Static ETLE tickets saw a growth of 44 percent. Meanwhile, Mobile ETLE tickets increased by 61 percent.

Police Grand Commissioner Komarudin, Director of Traffic for the Metro Jaya Regional Police, explained that in 2025, there were 227,626 recorded cases of static ETLE violations. Whereas in 2024, only 157,970 violations were recorded.

“Meanwhile, Mobile ETLE violations in 2025 were recorded at 27,317 cases, higher than in 2024, which only had 16,951 incidents,” he said while presenting traffic data in the 2025 Year-End Release of the Metro Jaya Regional Police.

Meanwhile, manual tickets were recorded to have decreased from 189,022 violations in 2024 to 72,375 cases in 2025. This record shows a correction of 62 percent.

There are many reasons why ETLE can capture more violations, including longer operational hours.

“Additionally, ETLE enforcement means that any road user, whether it's an official vehicle of the TNI, Polri, or local government, will be automatically recorded if they commit a violation,” said Komarudin.

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles committing violations in 2025 also grew, from the previous 181,621 units to 186,855 units, an increase of about 3 percent.

Of that total, 102,113 passenger cars were recorded committing violations. This figure is down from the previous year's 143,544 units.

Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, Head of the National Police Traffic Corps, revealed that the ETLE system is considered effective in increasing public compliance.

“After we revitalized ETLE, we prioritized 95 percent of law enforcement with ETLE. It turns out the level of public compliance is quite high,” he said.

According to him, people already have a negative perception of traffic police if their vehicle is stopped. However, when using ETLE, violators are willing to admit their mistake and pay the fine.

Currently, the number of ETLE units is only around 1,200. He hopes this number can increase to 5,000 cameras by 2026.
