KatadataOTO – Three points on the Jakarta Cikampek toll road will be repaired starting today. This step is being taken to improve driver comfort and meet minimum service standards.
Although repairs are underway, the road will remain open, especially during long holidays like the current one. Therefore, traffic congestion is not expected to occur.
"There will be no road closures while the work is in progress. The Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road section will continue to operate normally," said Amri Sanusi, Senior Manager of Representative Office 1 at PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, as reported by Antara.
He also explained that the first road reconstruction point is at Kilometer (Km) 25+805 to Km 25+939 in lane 1 and lane 2 towards Cikampek. The work will start today, Sunday (20/4) at 08:00 WIB until Wednesday (23/4) at 09:00 WIB.
Then, starting Monday (21/4) at 09:00 WIB until Saturday (26/4) at 06:00 WIB, similar work will be carried out at the second point, specifically at Km 18+600 to Km 18+100 in lane 1 towards Jakarta.
"The third point, starting Monday (21/4) at 09:00 WIB until Sunday (27/4) at 06:00 WIB, involves road reconstruction at Km 53+300 to Km 52+820 in lane 1 towards Jakarta," he said.
Various efforts have been made by the operator to avoid vehicle build-up. These include diverting affected traffic, narrowing the work area, and preparing a contraflow scheme if traffic conditions become congested.
"We have also coordinated intensively with the Highway Patrol Police regarding traffic management, especially during periods of congestion," he then added.
Furthermore, they have also disseminated information through various means, including installing outdoor media such as work advisory banners and Dynamic Message Signs. This is so the public is expected to be aware of these activities.
Road users are also advised to reschedule their trips to avoid arriving late at their destinations. Additionally, it is worth considering using alternative routes that may be smoother than forcing their way through the toll road.
