KatadataOTO – Throughout 2025, Chinese, Japanese, and South Korean manufacturers are releasing a line of electrified vehicles for Indonesian consumers. This includes electric cars to hybrid cars.

In May 2025, for the first time, a Chinese brand introduced a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) with a price tag far below similar PHEV vehicles.

While Japanese manufacturers sell PHEVs for Rp 1 billion and above, Chery brought in the Tiggo 8 CSH at around Rp 499 million specifically for the first 1,000 buyers.

In the near future, PT HPM (Honda Prospect Motor) has signaled the arrival of their newest hybrid car

After releasing the Civic RS e:HEV, their newest hybrid car is indicated to be the HR-V SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle). There is no information yet regarding the price, but it is likely not too different from the conventional version and will certainly still be below the CR-V e:HEV.

Honda still has one more hybrid car after the Civic and HR-V, which is the Stepwgn. The MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) was exhibited at GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) 2025 to survey consumers.

Meanwhile, the South Korean brand, Hyundai, has finally confirmed the arrival of the second generation of the Palisade, which has been equipped with hybrid technology.

There are no price details for each variant yet, but it is mentioned that the range is around Rp 1.1 billion. Three types are available: Signature, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy AWD (All Wheel Drive).
