The Xpeng X9 is available in an EREV variant, claimed to be the MPV with the longest range, and has the potential to enter Indonesia.
KatadataOTO – After the X9 Electric Vehicle (EV), Xpeng is preparing an X9 variant with a hybrid Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) model to be launched in the near future.
It should be noted that the Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) Xpeng X9 will be sold to consumers in the near future.
One thing that Xpeng wants to highlight is its range, which reaches 1,602 kilometers on a single full battery charge and a full tank.
Xpeng claims the Xpeng X9 EREV will be the 7-seater MPV with the longest range currently available, based on the CLTC calculation method.
The comprehensive range of the XPeng X9 EREV is 1,602 kilometers, which can be achieved when the battery and gasoline tank are full.
Meanwhile, the battery itself can accommodate a journey of up to 452 kilometers without the assistance of the gasoline engine.
Not only that, the Xpeng X9 EREV is equipped with various advanced features, including Artificial Intelligence or AI integration.
There is no complete information on the technical specifications yet, but the Xpeng X9 EREV is embedded with a 63.3 kWh capacity battery and a 60-liter gasoline tank.
The Xpeng X9 EREV is believed to be launching next week at the AI Day event on November 5, 2025.
Considering the Xpeng X9 is a model already marketed in Indonesia, this latest variant has the potential to be introduced to add electrification options for consumers.
Moreover, the Xpeng factory is said to be able to accommodate the production of hybrid technology models.
Hybrid cars are also still considered to have their own appeal for many people. This is because hybrid vehicles are not entirely dependent on the availability of public electric charging station infrastructure.
Then, the Xpeng X9 will be their first product to be locally assembled with semi-knocked-down (SKD) status.
On a different occasion, Xpeng had expressed its interest in locally assembling hybrid cars for Indonesian consumers.
The Xpeng X9 could certainly be the first candidate. The manufacturer has also prepared a certified assembly workforce from its home country to accommodate this need.
“In other words, if the complex X9 is ready (for local assembly), it will be easier to add more variants,” said Hari Arifianto, VP of Marketing for Xpeng Indonesia in Jakarta some time ago.
