The Wuyang-Honda joint venture is preparing a new electric motorcycle, featuring a unique cafe racer style.
It is known that the electric motor in the WH8000D is integrated with the chassis. This allows the electric cafe racer to have a lot of empty space for storage.
On the side of the motorcycle, the name E-VO is seen, suspected to be the name of the WH8000D once it enters mass production.
According to a report from Cycle World, data from MIIT, or the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, shows that Wuyang-Honda is preparing two variants of the WH8000D.
Unfortunately, there is no detailed information yet regarding the battery capacity or material in the WH8000D. However, it is mentioned that both types can produce 8 kW of power, equivalent to 11 hp.
Due to a weight difference between the two, their maximum speeds differ. The first variant can go up to 68 miles per hour (109 km per hour), while the second type reaches 75 miles per hour or about 120 km per hour.
The electric motorcycle, which will be named E-VO, uses a 110/70 front tire with a 16-inch rim. The rear tire is a 140/70 R14, and it is already equipped with an ABS braking system as standard.
The prediction is that the Wuyang-Honda electric motorcycle will still use a swappable battery, like the EM1 e:.
Speaking of range, it seems Wuyang-Honda will offer a capable cruising range for this motorcycle.
Looking at the specifications of the two Honda concept electric motorcycles that debuted at EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori) 2024, both have a range of up to 100 km.
For comparison, the Honda EM1 e: has a range of 41.1 km. Other models, the Icon e: has 53 km, while the Cuv e: has 80.7 km.
Of course, the price will also be higher, especially if it is later fully imported. However, there is no certainty yet regarding the presence of the WH8000D in the domestic automotive market.
