KatadataOTO – Automotive manufacturers are continuously innovating. This includes efforts to introduce innovative products.
As seen in the products of Verge Motorcycles. Recently, they showcased an electric two-wheeled vehicle named the TS Pro.
Reporting from Paultan on Wednesday (07/01), this Verge electric motorcycle is already equipped with a solid state battery. It is the work of Donut Lab, their subsidiary.
Later, this battery will be embedded in the Verge TS Pro and Ultra e-bikes that will be marketed.
“The solid state battery operates in conjunction with the drive motor installed in the rim,” wrote Paultan.
This decision was made to meet the need for an efficient, lightweight, and cost-effective drive system.
Furthermore, Donut Lab's components consist of battery modules, a computer unit, and software for the vehicle.
The Verge TS Pro battery is claimed to have an energy density of 400 Wh/kg. It is designed for up to 100 thousand charging cycles.
For your information, the Verge TS Pro's battery is offered in two capacity options. Starting from 20.2 kWh and 33.3 kWh.
The first option is claimed to be able to travel up to 349 km. Meanwhile, the second option is slightly further, at 595 km.
It also features a 136.8 hp drive motor with a peak torque of 999 Nm. This allows acceleration from a standstill to 96 km per hour in just 3.5 seconds.
To support its performance, the Verge TS Pro is also equipped with the North American Charging Standard (NACS) 200 kW fast charging. It can provide a range of 299 km in just ten minutes.
On the other hand, Donut Lab states that they have created the world's first solid state battery ready for use in OEM manufacturing.
