Cahaya Trans Bus Company's Permit Suspended After Fatal Toll Road Accident

KatadataOTO – The fatal accident involving a bus owned by PO Cahaya Wisata has become a serious concern for the government. A thorough evaluation was conducted by the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

In fact, the Directorate General of Land Transportation (Ditjen Hubdat) recently imposed sanctions on PT Cahaya Wisata Transportasi.

They froze the operating license of PO Cahaya Trans for 12 months, effective from the issuance of the Decree of the Director General of Land Transportation Number KP-DRJD 23 of 2026.

“During the administrative sanction period, the company is also required to renew its business permits and Supervision Cards,” said Aan Suhanan, Director General of Land Transportation, on their official website, Tuesday (06/01).

Aan also requested PO Cahaya Trans to report and register its entire fleet used or operated in the Electronically Integrated Business Licensing System or Online Single Submission.

The Ministry of Transportation also encouraged PO Cahaya Trans to develop, implement, and apply a Public Transportation Company Safety Management System.

This must be done immediately, no later than three months after the latest business permit is issued.

“Cahaya Wisata Transportasi is required to carry out the necessary repairs and responsibilities and report them to the Director General of Land Transportation,” Aan added.

It was further stated that if the company concerned fails to fulfill its obligations, it will be subject to administrative sanctions.
