The Ministry of Transportation also found negligence in vehicle operation, leading to an accident that resulted in fatalities.
As a reminder, the Cahaya Trans bus with license plate B 7201 IV was involved in a fatal accident at the Krapyak Toll exit interchange, Semarang, Central Java on December 22, 2025.
The incident allegedly occurred when the Cahaya Trans bus was navigating a curve, and the driver could not control the vehicle's speed.
The bus then swerved and overturned to the right. As a result of the incident, 16 people died and 12 passengers were injured.
“We will not hesitate to take firm action against public transport companies that violate regulations,” Aan concluded.
The Director General of Land Transportation will impose sanctions in accordance with laws and regulations to create a deterrent effect for the parties involved.
“We hope this incident can serve as an important lesson for all bus companies to comply with the rules,” Aan Suhanan concluded.
