KatadataOTO – East Java, Central Java, and West Java are currently receiving special attention from the National Police Traffic Corps. This is evident from the visit of Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, the Head of the Traffic Corps.
During his visit, he directly reviewed the implementation of electronic ticketing or electronic traffic law enforcement or ETLE to ensure it is running well. This is considered important as the Traffic Corps is currently striving to make improvements.
During the visit, Agus and his staff reviewed the ETLE command and monitoring centers at each Regional Police Traffic Directorate. They engaged in direct dialogue with field personnel while ensuring that all camera devices, data transmission systems, and violation verification processes were functioning properly according to operational procedures.
Agus explained that the visit to the East Java Regional Police is a primary focus for his team, considering the province has a fairly extensive network of static and mobile ETLE.
Based on the monitoring, ETLE in the jurisdiction of the East Java Regional Police has been running well.
"I can confirm that in the East Java Regional Police, e-Ticketing (electronic ticketing) is already running well. In fact, the data shows a significant increase, with enforcement up by 307 percent, validation up by 228 percent, and payment confirmation up by 198 percent," said Agus, as reported by Antara (25/10).
In addition, he also directly monitored several innovations from the Traffic Corps. These include Mobile ETLE (handheld), the Signal application, and E-BPKB (Electronic Vehicle Ownership Book) as a digital public service ecosystem that supports the grand vision of a Precise National Police.
"We want to ensure that all systems are truly running well and that their benefits are felt by the public. The digitalization of the Traffic Corps must be alive in the field, not just in concepts or policies," he said.
The Head of the Traffic Corps also emphasized that the implementation of ETLE is a tangible manifestation of the National Police's commitment to providing objective, transparent, and accountable law enforcement, while also reducing the potential for direct interaction between officers and traffic violators.
"Digitalization is not just about technological modernization, but a tangible form of public service that is humane, transparent, and just. Through ETLE, the public gains legal certainty as well as a sense of security in traffic," he concluded.
