The Point-Based Traffic Ticket System is believed to deter violators.

Later, for drivers who commit violations until their points run out within a year, the police will revoke or suspend the driver's license.

On the other hand, to be more disciplined and provide a deterrent effect, the point system will be integrated with the issuance of a Police Clearance Certificate (SKCK).

List of Point-Based Violations According to Police Regulation 5/2021

1 Point

• Article 275 paragraph 1: Interfering with the function of traffic signs, road markings, traffic signals, pedestrian facilities, and road user safety equipment.
• Article 276: Driving a public motor vehicle on a designated route without stopping at the terminal.
• Article 278: Driving a four-wheeled or more motor vehicle without mandatory equipment.
• Article 282: Disobeying a police officer's order.
• Article 285 paragraph 1: Riding a motorcycle that does not meet technical and roadworthy requirements.
• Article 287 paragraphs 3, 4, 6: Violating rules for stopping, parking, failing to yield to priority vehicles, and violating vehicle towing regulations.
• Article 288 paragraph 2: Unable to present a valid driver's license.
• Article 289: Passenger next to the driver not wearing a seatbelt.
• Article 290: Driver and passengers not wearing seatbelts and helmets.
• Article 291: Motorcyclist and passenger not wearing a standard helmet.
• Article 292: Carrying more than one passenger without a sidecar.
• Article 293: Driving without turning on the main headlights at night or in certain conditions.
• Article 294: Failing to signal when turning or changing direction.
