KatadataOTO – The choice of electric cars in Indonesia has been growing in recent times. One of them is the Aion V.
This EV (Electric Vehicle) was introduced at the GJAW (Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week) 2024 event.
However, Aion Indonesia will only announce the price of its electric four-wheeler at IIMS (Indonesia International Motor Show) 2025.
Nevertheless, the Aion V is claimed to have received a positive reception from consumers in the country. As it has managed to collect hundreds of SPK (Vehicle Order Letters).
“From GJAW until the end of January 2025, we have received 800 SPKs,” said Andry Ciu, CEO of Aion Indonesia in Yogyakarta.
Andry then stated that this Aion electric car will begin local production in March 2025. It will then be delivered to consumers at the same time.
As it happens, KatadataOTO had the opportunity to try out the Aion V on the Jakarta-Yogyakarta route, and here is the summary.
When discussing the appearance of this EV, the fascia offers a minimalist, futuristic, and elegant impression. It is claimed to be inspired by the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
This can be seen from the bumper and headlights which have a boxy shape. Giving the vehicle a sturdy impression.
The presence of LED main headlights makes the Aion V's appearance even more modern. Making it suitable for young families.
Meanwhile, at the rear, there are not many ornaments to be seen. There is only a fairly large Aion logo and the letter V.
So it looks very sturdy and sporty. Additionally, there are taillights created with a vertical position.
Entering the interior of the Aion V, consumers will feel that the cabin of this EV is very spacious. This is thanks to its rather large dimensions.
Because the wheelbase or axle length reaches 2,775 mm. This figure is more than half the vehicle's length, which is 4,605 mm. It's no wonder the Aion V's cabin feels quite spacious.
