Long Trip with Aion V Jakarta-Yogyakarta, Pampered by Features

The KatadataOTO team had the opportunity to test drive the Aion V electric car on a route from Jakarta to Yogyakarta.

Long Trip with Aion V Jakarta-Yogyakarta, Pampered by Features
Katadata OTO Rating:

The abundance of modern features really pampers passengers and drivers.

There are minimal physical buttons so you have to adapt first and the second row AC is not cold enough.

The electric car did not feel wobbly and was quite stable. Making us confident to push the Aion V at an average speed in the 90s km/h.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to test other driving modes like Comfort or Sport. Because we could only experience Power Save mode until the KM 228 A rest area.

However, when we used the Power Save driving mode on the road, the Aion V remained very responsive.

Regarding the suspension, we feel the Aion V is reliable. Especially when going over the expansion joints on the MBZ Toll Road and the bumpy terrain on the Trans-Java.

That comfort is inseparable from the MacPherson Independent suspension system at the front. While the rear relies on a Torsion Beam Non-Independent system.

It should be noted, the Aion V is equipped with a 150 kW electric motor. Then for peak torque, it reaches 240 Nm, sufficient for driving needs in the city as well as for long journeys.

Moreover, it carries a 75.3 kWh Magazine Battery 2.0. It is claimed to offer a range of up to 600 km on a single charge.

However, when the Aion V was pushed to 168 km/h, its electricity consumption was quite high. So this must be paid attention to during the journey.

Don't run out of battery before reaching your destination or an SPKLU (Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station) location.
