BMW and Mini Electric Cars Participate in Maybank Marathon Bali

KatadataOTO – There are many ways to show a commitment to sustainability. As is being done by the BMW Group.

Recently, they supported the Maybank Marathon 2025 event on the island of Bali by presenting a line of electric cars.

This was done to continue their track record at this important event in the country.

"With our premium fleet, BMW always provides luxury mobility for the most important events in Indonesia," said Peter Sunny Medalla, President Director of BMW Group Indonesia in Jakarta, Thursday (14/08).

Sunny explained that for the Maybank Marathon 2025, the German brand is presenting three electric cars.

Specifically, the BMW i4 will be used to lead the full marathon class or 42 km. Meanwhile, the Mini John Cooper Works E will be relied upon for the 21 km class.

As for the 10 km class, there is the BMW i5. Making it even more unique, the Electric Vehicle (EV) will be driven by Ditto Percussion, a local musician.

"And now we are bringing the same standard to the Maybank Marathon 2025 in Bali," Sunny continued.

He further stated that BMW Group Indonesia has been the Sustainable Mobility Partner for the Maybank Marathon since 2019.

Then in the last four years, the running event has grown quite rapidly.

Becoming one of the most prestigious events at the Southeast Asian level. It even holds the World Athletics Elite Label status.

Therefore, BMW wants to take part in the Maybank Marathon 2025. And present their flagship electric cars.

Moreover, this running event is in line with BMW's mission to achieve carbon neutrality. Thus, they are proud to be part of the Maybank Marathon 2025.

"We are bringing the same premium standard to one of the most important sporting events in Indonesia," Sunny emphasized.

For your information, besides preparing electric cars as lead cars, they are also providing 20 other four-wheeled vehicles.

Later, these 20 BMW cars will be used to transport VIP guests. Thus providing more comfort.

On the other hand, Dody Krisnadi, Head of Card & Unsecured Lending Business at Maybank Indonesia, expressed his pride after receiving support from BMW.

"Together, we want to voice and convey the message that sports, innovation, and sustainability can go hand in hand," said Dody.

He also hopes that the collaboration between the two parties can be long-lasting. Especially for future Maybank Marathon events.
