KatadataOTO – BYD Indonesia will go all out at the GIIAS 2025 event. They are ready to showcase all their flagship products in the country.

The manufacturer from China is rumored to be launching a new model at the GIIAS 2025 automotive exhibition. Based on leaks circulating online, the BYD Atto 1 is ready to be marketed.

BYD and Denza will occupy a 3,000-square-meter booth at ICE BSD, making it one of the largest at the annual event.

With a larger area, this Chinese manufacturer is setting a big target, hoping for more than the previous event.

"Reflecting on the previous event, we hope to achieve more than last year. At least 1.5 times or maybe even double," said Luther  T. Panjaitan, Head of PR and Government at BYD Indonesia in Jakarta (16/07).

As a reminder, BYD orders at the GIIAS 2024 event were recorded at 2,920 units. The M6 model dominated 50 percent of their sales during the exhibition.

Therefore, if doubled, BYD's Vehicle Order Letter (SPK) target at GIIAS 2025 could exceed 5,000 units.

This figure is quite large, considering that Toyota, as the market leader, recorded 6,202 SPK.

"We are confident because we are preparing an area twice as large. At last year's GIIAS, the number of visitors was overwhelming," Luther then said.

Meanwhile, to accommodate the needs of potential customers, they are preparing a special test drive area for BYD products.

This will allow visitors to more freely try out the lineup of BYD and Denza models.

Moreover, they plan to launch their cheapest model at GIIAS 2025, which is predicted to attract public attention.

The BYD Atto 1 itself is named the Seagull in its home country. The model is a bestseller in the land of the bamboo curtain.

According to a salesperson, the BYD Atto 1 will be marketed with a starting price of around Rp 250 million.

The price above is quite attractive in the Indonesian market, as it will nearly overlap with the very appealing budget hatchback segment in the country.

It will be interesting to wait for the selling price of the BYD Atto 1 at the GIIAS 2025 event.
