KatadataOTO – The GIIAS 2025 automotive exhibition is claimed to have successfully attracted the public during its 11-day run to see and purchase motor vehicles, especially four-wheeled ones.
At the event, dozens of new cars were launched for the Indonesian market, including gasoline-powered, hybrid, and electric cars.
In total, there were more than 60 automotive brands, including 40 passenger vehicle brands, four commercial vehicles, 17 motorcycle brands, and four coachbuilders, as well as hundreds of supporting industries.
There were 10 new brands present for the first time or returning after being absent for some time.
The launch of dozens of new models and numerous concept cars is considered a significant achievement in the GIIAS 2025 event.
“A total of 54 new vehicles were launched during the exhibition, and four concept vehicles were also introduced to showcase innovation and the future vision of the automotive industry,” said Rizwan Alamsjah, Chairman III of Gaikindo in Tangerang, Saturday (02/08).
Meanwhile, Rizwan revealed that the number of visitors to GIIAS 2025 successfully exceeded previous expectations.
Rizwan emphasized that this is clear evidence of the public's enthusiasm for the rapid development of technology, which increases year by year.
Although transactions are not the target of GIIAS, Rizwan said that each participant will later report their achievements during GIIAS 2025.
“Some participants saw an increase, and some a decrease. We hope the total transactions for GIIAS 2025 can reach last year's figure,” said Rizwan.
GIIAS 2025 was held at ICE BSD City, Tangerang from July 24 to August 3, 2025.
Several cars made their domestic debut, such as the right-hand drive version of the Jetour T2. Then, the Chinese brand BYD Atto 1 was officially launched with a price of Rp 195 million.
Toyota brought the locally assembled bZ4X and introduced the Urban Cruiser EV for the first time in Indonesia.
The exhibition was dominated by Chinese brands offering prototype vehicles and eco-friendly lineups that attracted visitors' attention.
Xpeng, for example, displayed their flying car in their booth area. Then Chery's sub-brand, Lepas, made its global debut with three models: L4, L6, and L8.
