KatadataOTO – Jaecoo has officially announced the price of their electric car, the J5 EV, at GIIAS 2025. The lowest type is priced at IDR 350 million, while the higher variant, the Premium, is IDR 450 million.

The price of the Jaecoo J5 EV seems to be temporary, or just a pre-booking figure. So there is a chance the price will change again after GIIAS 2025.

Jaecoo released the J8 and J7 in sequence, followed by the J5. The J5 EV is their first electric car in the country.

“Our full presence demonstrates Jaecoo's long-term commitment in Indonesia and our ambition to present smart, environmentally friendly, and tough SUVs,” said Max Zhou, Country Director of Jaecoo Indonesia in Tangerang, on Thursday (24/07).

The J5 EV has previously appeared at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025 as an introduction to consumers.

However, this time it is officially on sale for customers interested in buying an electric car in the SUV class.

The presence of the Jaecoo J5 EV in the country adds another option for a competitively priced electric car.

At a glance, the design of the Jaecoo J5 EV has a similar posture to its conventional and hybrid models, but it looks different with a minimalist grille typical of electric cars.

The interior is designed to be spacious and considers passenger comfort during the journey.

Various Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features are embedded, complete with six airbags.

Speaking of the powertrain, the Jaecoo J5 EV uses a 60.9 kWh capacity battery. On paper, this configuration is claimed to offer a range of 470 km on a single charge.

With its electric motor, the Jaecoo J5 EV can produce 155 kW of power, equivalent to 207 hp, with a peak torque of 288 Nm.

In the future, Jaecoo is committed to locally assembling certain models like the J7.

The J5 EV also seems to be included in Jaecoo's plans for CKD (Completely Knocked Down) assembly in the country.

The Jaecoo J5 EV can be seen in person at its booth during the GIIAS 2025 event. Tickets can be purchased online or at the exhibition venue, ICE BSD, Tangerang.
