KatadataOTO – In contrast to the majority of Chinese car brands in Indonesia, Neta has actually experienced a significant sales decline throughout 2025.

Based on data from the Association of Indonesia Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), in December 2025, Neta's retail sales (distribution from dealer to consumer) were only two units.

The numbers have been continuously declining since July 2025. It should be noted that they currently offer two models: the Neta V-II and the Neta X.

Both are locally assembled, utilizing the production facilities of PT Handal Indonesia Motor (HIM).

It seems Neta needs to change its strategy to face the increasingly tight competition. Especially since several other Chinese brands are planning to enter Indonesia this year.

“It's true that on the retail side, we have experienced a sales decline,” said Irvan Mustafa, Head of Marketing at PT Neta Auto Indonesia, to KatadataOTO on Tuesday (13/01).

Nevertheless, he emphasized that Neta's business will continue with the same product portfolio in 2026.

To date, Neta has no plans to launch a new vehicle line for consumers in the country.

“Neta itself will still stick with the same product line-up as in 2025,” Irvan affirmed.

For your information, Neta was previously an electric car startup from China. However, the brand has recently faced various challenges and bankruptcy issues.

Towards mid-2025, Neta's first dealership in Indonesia permanently closed, which caught the attention of consumers.

The Neta Kelapa Gading dealership was officially opened on November 9, 2023. The outlet only managed to stay open for less than two years.

This was despite the Neta Kelapa Gading dealership offering complete 3S (Sales, Service, and Spare Parts) facilities.

As a result, consumers in the North Jakarta area have to use alternative Neta dealerships, such as the one in Pluit Permai, Penjaringan District.
