Jetour T2 PHEV Set to Challenge Indonesia's Hybrid Market Leaders

KatadataOTO – Jetour T2 PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) is rumored to enter Indonesia, specifically through the GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) 2025 event.

The brand, which is under the Chery Group, is actually also interested in bringing in the X50e electric car. However, the Jetour T2 PHEV has its own appeal, as it is touted as the hybrid version of the BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) Chery J6.

Chinese brands are starting to play in the hybrid car segment after seeing the great potential it promises. HEVs (Hybrid Electric Vehicles) also offer efficiency, which is ultimately claimed to reduce the use of fuel (BBM).

"The boxy SUV that is indeed the number one best-selling model in China is the Jetour T2, and it will also be part of our new lineup this year," said Moch. Ranggy Rahadiansyah, Marketing Director of PT Jetour Motor Indonesia in Jakarta some time ago.

The Jetour T2 PHEV will also be a new challenger to the ruler of the hybrid car market in Indonesia, the Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix HEV.

It will certainly be very tough competition, considering the Zenix is already more well-known to domestic consumers and its competitive price starts from Rp 400 million, being a recipient of incentives as it is locally assembled.

Furthermore, it should be noted that the Innova Zenix is not equipped with PHEV technology with an extra large-capacity battery that can offer additional driving range.

Jetour Motor Indonesia is still reluctant to provide detailed technical specifications for the Jetour T2 PHEV. However, it is known that the model's dimensions (L x W x H) are 4,785 mm x 2,006 mm x 1,875 mm with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.

For comparison, the Jetour T2 is only slightly longer than the Chery J6 electric car at 4,406 mm x 1,910 mm x 1,715 mm with a wheelbase of 2,715 mm.
