The Mazda MX-5 35th Anniversary Edition is available in limited numbers, enticing collectors.
KatadataOTO – PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI) is bringing the Mazda MX-5 35th Anniversary Edition to the country. The car is a limited edition to commemorate its 35th anniversary.
The fourth-generation Mazda MX-5 with the ND body code is now 10 years old. Since it was first marketed in 2015, the vehicle has not been updated until now.
Some touches were made only for the limited versions. As is now being done for the 35th edition.
“In its iconic journey, PT EMI is proud to present the Mazda MX-5 35th Anniversary Edition in Indonesia. This provides an opportunity for Miata Enthusiasts to own this legendary unit,” said Ricky Thio, Chief Operating Officer of PT EMI in Jakarta (14/03).
He further explained that the product has many names in various countries. Besides Mazda MX-5 for the ASEAN market, the name Miata is also used in its country of origin.
The development of the unit, which continues to prioritize the Jinba-Ittai philosophy, provides a different driving experience. It gives the impression of the driver and vehicle becoming one to perform enjoyable maneuvers.
Several advantages of the Mazda MX-5 are maintained, including its light weight, 50:50 body weight distribution, rear-wheel drive, double wishbone suspension (front) and multi-link (rear), a low seating position, and a precision steering system.
Coming as a limited edition car, this Mazda MX-5 is equipped with a special color. It is available in a unique Artisan Red Metallic color, making it look different from previous versions.
On the exterior, the 35th edition Mazda MX-5 is seen still using 17-inch wheels with a similar design. However, they are given a brighter color touch.
Then, what is no less important is its identity as a rare car. This is because a serial number badge is embedded on the right side of the vehicle.
The 35th edition logo is also present in the interior, including on the seat headrests and carpets. This emphasizes that this is a special unit.
The Mazda MX-5 35th Anniversary Edition is only available in 3 units for the Indonesian market. One unit is said to have already been claimed by a customer.
The price of the Mazda MX-5 35th Anniversary Edition in the country is Rp 973.3 million on the road in Jakarta.
