KatadataOTO – PT SIS (Suzuki Indomobil Sales) has officially launched their newest SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle), the Fronx. Like several other Suzuki lines, this model is available in a hybrid variant.

The Fronx becomes the third mild hybrid model from Suzuki to be assembled at their factory in Cikarang.

Not only for domestic needs, Suzuki has confirmed that the Fronx will also be exported to several countries.

As of 2024, Suzuki has exported to 74 countries. However, the manufacturer with the S logo has not yet been able to reveal the future export destinations for the Fronx.

“We are currently preparing. Because we have to meet the regulations and homologation in various destination countries,” said Shodiq Wicaksono, Managing Director of PT SIM (Suzuki Indomobil Motor) in Jakarta, Wednesday (28/05).

Southeast Asian countries will be candidate destinations for the export of the Indonesian-made Suzuki Fronx.

“We will start exporting in the next three or four months, primarily to countries in ASEAN,” Shodiq affirmed.

He also emphasized that the factory is ready to produce the Suzuki Fronx according to both domestic and future export needs.

“The Cikarang factory is given mixed production capabilities, so it can produce different products on one line. Of course, with the support of good production and planning control,” said Shodiq.

Suzuki has not officially announced the Local Content Level (TKDN) percentage for the Fronx, but the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has revealed the figure is around 60 percent.

Various components on the Fronx, from the body to the seats, are claimed to be made by Suzuki domestically.

“For three years, together with 200 local partners, we have been preparing for this. We are proud to be able to show the (Fronx) to the public today,” said Minoru Amano, President Director of PT SIM and PT SIS (Suzuki Indomobil Sales) on the same occasion.
