Specifications of JAC Trekker T9 EV, Electric Version of Toyota Hilux

KatadataOTO – JAC Motors is a new Chinese brand introducing a new product in the electric commercial vehicle segment.

In its home country, JAC Motors has a line of passenger cars. However, they have chosen not to bring them to the Indonesian market.

One of the models introduced is the pickup double cabin JAC Trekker T9 EV. This model will compete with other double cabins such as the Toyota Hilux and Mitsubishi Triton.

According to JAC Motors, a survey of the commercial vehicle market in Indonesia has been conducted since 2023.

“A year and a half ago, we reviewed and studied the market. The population (of commercial vehicles) is over 90,000 units spread across Indonesia,” said Edo Putro, Technical and After Sales Division Head of Indomobil JAC Motors in Jakarta recently.

In terms of fuel consumption, he revealed that electric commercial vehicles can offer the efficiency needed by customers.

Therefore, it is hoped that the Trekker T9 EV can meet the needs of consumers, especially in the plantation and mining sectors.

The JAC Trekker T9 EV is claimed to be the first electric-powered four-wheel drive (4WD) double cabin pickup in Indonesia.
