KatadataOTO – BYD recorded interesting results at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2025. For the first time, they managed to record the highest number of orders compared to other brands.

Previously, vehicle orders at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2025 were always dominated by Japanese manufacturers. Especially Toyota, which has often been the best-selling manufacturer.

However, the competitive landscape in the Land of the White Elephant has now begun to change. This is because out of the five best-selling manufacturers, three are from China, making electric vehicles the backbone of their sales.

BYD (including Denza) became the most ordered manufacturer by the public in that country. They managed to record 10,353 orders, consisting of 9,819 for BYD and 534 for Denza.

Previously, BYD had only managed to secure 5,345 orders. The BYD Dolphin became the best-selling model with 4,014 units ordered during the exhibition. This was followed by.

Meanwhile, Toyota became the second best-selling manufacturer after securing 9,615 orders. A slight increase compared to last year's achievement of 8,540 units.

In third place was GAC Aion, securing the third position with 7,018 orders. That number also grew compared to last year, which only had 3,018 orders.

Then in fourth place was Deepal Changan with 6,589 units ordered. Meanwhile, last year they only reached 3,073 units.

It should be noted that over 14 days, total vehicle orders reached 77,379 units. That figure is an increase of 23,941 units compared to the previous year's event, a growth of 41.63 percent.

Reporting from Autoindustriya, the Bangkok International Motor Show 2025 proved that the Thai public is increasingly interested in electrified vehicles. This is because 65 percent of total orders were for electric and hybrid cars.
