Mitsubishi Xforce has secured 80 percent local content by involving local industry.
KatadataOTO – Mitsubishi Xforce is here as a 5-seater compact SUV. This model was developed specifically for the ASEAN market.
Since its appearance in Indonesia in 2023, the Mitsubishi Xforce has been increasingly in demand by local consumers. This is proven by the vehicle's market share, which continues to increase up to 13 percent
The figure above was recorded in the January – October 2024 period. The Xforce population itself has reached 7,200 units as of October 2024 and continues to grow.
At the GJAW 2024 event, PT MMKSI (Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia) launched the newest variant of the Xforce. The futuristic-looking SUV has a highest trim level, namely the Ultimate DS.
This variant complements the two lower trims, namely the Mitsubishi Xforce Ultimate and Exceed.
“I am very happy to be able to introduce the latest innovations. Starting from our new product which has been equipped with Diamond Sense technology,” said Atsushi Kurita, President Director of MMKSI at the launch in late 2024.
As the highest trim, the Mitsubishi Xforce Ultimate DS still carries a similar appearance to the previous version. As a differentiator, it features a two-tone color and other color options.
There are also additions like a Rear Spoiler and Fashionable Roof Rails. This enhances the sporty impression of the vehicle.
Entering the cabin, there is a spacious interior. It also has 8 reclining seat options (17 – 33 degrees). For connectivity, it is embedded with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay.
Then for safety features, it is packed with 6 airbags, a Mono Camera, front-rear Radar Sensors, and Ultrasonic Parking Sensors.
The sensors above support the functions of various Diamond Sense features which include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with low speed follow, Automatic High Beam (AHB), Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Auto Headlight, Auto Rain Sensor and also a Rear Camera.
In addition, there are 4 driving modes and Active Yaw Control (AYC) which are still maintained to add to driving safety.
The Mitsubishi Xforce's Local Content Level (TKDN), which reached 80 percent, received appreciation from the Minister of MSMEs. With the hope that it can be a catalyst for other brands.
“This Mitsubishi (Xforce) has 80 percent local content. This means that 80 percent of all parts of this car involve local participation,” said Maman Abdurrahman, Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises of Indonesia at the opening of IIMS 2025 (13/02).
Furthermore, it was said that the Ministry of Industry continues to encourage car manufacturers in Indonesia to increase local content. Because it can support MSMEs to become bigger.
