Aismoli still hopes the government's electric motorcycle incentive can be disbursed this month or August 2025.

KatadataOTO – The electric motorcycle incentive seems to still be just wishful thinking. This is because the government has not yet disbursed the aid as the end of August 2025 approaches.
Even though the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) previously signaled that this aid would be given in August.
This situation has apparently made some parties speak out. Including from the Indonesian Electric Motorcycle Association (Aismoli).
“Let's hope that what has been conveyed can be in line with its implementation,” said Budi Setiyadi, Chairman of Aismoli, when contacted by KatadataOTO on Wednesday (20/08).
According to Budi, electric motorcycle manufacturers are ready to welcome the incentive from President Prabowo Subianto and the ministers.
They are also ready to distribute the electric motorcycle incentive to the people in the country, so it can be utilized by the wider public.
Especially since on several occasions, such as in formal forums, both the central and regional governments have shown support for the electric two-wheeled vehicle industry.
Therefore, Aismoli very much hopes that President Prabowo Subianto and his staff are truly willing to provide the subsidy in 2025.
“The regulation is already there, perhaps the policy just shouldn't be half-hearted,” Budi continued.
Furthermore, the Chairman of Aismoli revealed that the unfulfilled promises of providing electric motorcycle incentives have had a negative impact.
The public is now waiting for the aid to be disbursed. Consequently, sales have slowed down slightly and existing stock is piling up in manufacturers' warehouses.
“In fact, the information from the beginning of the year until perhaps last month has sometimes created a blunder, which is detrimental to us,” Budi asserted.
As a reminder, the electric motorcycle incentive is planned to be given by the Ministry of Industry after they coordinate with related Ministries and institutions.
“We asked for it to be expedited; the last meeting was still focused on this holiday season. The Coordinating Minister (Airlangga Hartarto) will schedule (the next meeting) after this holiday season, possibly in August,” said Faisol Riza, Deputy Minister of Industry, on a separate occasion.
However, as the end of August 2025 approaches, the aid has yet to see the light of day, becoming an empty hope for industry players and the public.
Most recently, the Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics (ILMATE) said they are still waiting for a meeting agenda with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and other related ministries.
Only after that can they issue the Minister of Industry Regulation (Permenperin) regarding the provision of incentives for two-wheeled vehicles.
