KatadataOTO – Indomobil Emotor Adora was officially launched yesterday (06/02). The electric motorcycle is marketed at a price of around Rp 24 million.

Many excellent features are offered to prospective consumers in Indonesia, with the hope that it will be positively received in the country.

As an electric vehicle, the Indomobil Emotor Adora is claimed to be a domestic product. The unit's development process did not take a long time.

“The development process for this motorcycle was quite short, less than 1 year. We have our own R&D team to carry out the development,” said Willianto Husada, Director of PT Indomobil Group, on the sidelines of the launch in Jakarta.

It was further stated that Indomobil has been conducting research since 2019. Various studies were conducted to produce a motorcycle that consumers need.

However, out there, there is an electric motorcycle with a similar design to the Indomobil Emotor Adora. Based on the made-in-china.com website, a similar unit named Yamasaki YME-07X can be seen.

Both the Adora and the YME-07X have a similar appearance. From the front to the rear, there are almost no differences.

Only the emblems on the front body, side, and bottom cover are different. The Adora version uses an emblem with the word "Indomobil".

Indomobil's Response

When confirmed, they admitted that some components are indeed imported from China. However, in terms of status, the Indomobil Emotor Adora is a locally made product.

“We import this product as CKD (Completely Knock Down). We have already applied for TKDN (Domestic Component Level) through the localization of assembly, R&D, and batteries,” said Pius Wirawan, CEO of Indomobil Emotor, at the same location.

It was further stated that the Adora electric motorcycle is produced at Indomobil's facility in Pulogadung.

“This is made by Indomobil and designed by Indonesians, then we developed it. So it's not a brand from abroad that was just brought here,” explained Pius.

Meanwhile, the Yamasaki YME-07X is priced at 590 dollars, or if converted, around Rp 9 million. This is very different from the Indomobil Emotor Adora, which reaches a price of around Rp 24 million.
