KatadataOTO – A technology company from China, Omoway has just introduced its brand in the country. Indonesia was chosen as the birthplace of the brand.

The reason is that two-wheeled vehicles have a considerably large population in the country. Therefore, the Omoway electric motorcycle is considered to have great potential.

In terms of appearance, the electric motorcycle from Omoway, the Omo X, has an unconventional yet eccentric design.

The appearance of the Omo X is dominated by sharp angles and bold lines on the body sides. Additionally, many modern features are embedded, such as self-balancing and self-parking capabilities.

Looking at the design and features of the Omo X, there is a chance its price tag will be far above the majority of electric motorcycles in Indonesia.

However, Omoway is confident that their product will be accepted by consumers. This is because the manufacturer claims to have conducted market research and studies before introducing the Omo X.

“We want to create a special product for Indonesians. So our headquarters is here,” said Nick, Product Manager of Omoway, to the media in South Jakarta some time ago.

The Omo X is still a prototype, but it is claimed to be close to its mass production version.

However, it is highly likely that Omoway will make some more adjustments, relying on feedback from related parties after its form was first revealed in Indonesia.

“We will provide the (information on) specifications at the end of this year,” Nick affirmed.

For your information, Omoway is a company founded by the co-founder of Xpeng. So it is not surprising that the features embedded in the Omo X are capable and its design is eccentric.

The autonomous driving system is a key technology that Omoway wants to highlight.

At its global debut in South Jakarta, two Omo X units used this feature to ride onto the stage area by themselves without the help of a rider or additional wheels.

The Omo X also aims to entice touring enthusiasts. Omoway will provide additional compartment boxes for extra luggage to be placed on the rear and sides of the motorcycle.

For sport bike enthusiasts, the Omo X is also claimed to be able to transform using additional fairing components that match the body color.

The flexibility of modification according to user needs is expected to be a special attraction for Indonesian consumers.
